There can also be common side effects that go along with each of them. Vitamins should only be taken according to recommended/right dosage.     Certain types of vitamins do have very real interactions with prescription medications of different kinds. Therefore, before taking any specific vitamin, patients do need to talk to their health care professional to find out if there are any existing drug interactions or serious side effects that can upset one’s health. Vitamin K for example interacts with the blood thinner called Coumadin or Warfarin. What Vitamin K does is to counteract the anticoagulant activity of this drug.
