  • Abelcet Uses

Amphotericin B, the active component of Abelcet, kills the fungi by inhibiting their growth and subsequently their reproduction. Amphotericin B is a lipid complex that can travel and pass through the cell membrane. It binds to a component present in the fungal cell membrane known as ergosterol. This bond causes a monovalent leakage of ions by forming a transmembrane channel. This leakage leads to the death of the fungal cells. Abelcet using this method can treat the following diseases:

    • Blastomycosis
    • Bladder inflammation
    • Fungemia
    • Aspergillosis
    • Chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis
    • Visceral leishmaniasis
    • Zygomycosis
    • Neutropenia
    • Urinary tract infection
    • Histoplasmosis
    • Fungal lung disease
    • Peritonitis
    • Cryptococcal meningitis
    • Sporotrichosis
    • Candidiasis that affects the skin and nails
  • Abelcet Dosage

These dose increments are to be done within 3-4 days of an adjustment period.
