Inspirational Nursery Rhymes are cute, simple rhymes, yet the process of reading them from ages 0 thru 7 is scientifically proven to work. Our books were created to inspire children to believe in themselves, create a higher self-worth, and teach values like manners, gratitude & responsibility. In this book, Max shows everyone how he thanks God for all the simple things in his life and that gratitude will stay will him as he grows into an adult. In addition, by reading over and over, God will be in the mind of the child forever! This is such a cute book the message and the illustration's are wonderful. This would make a great baby shower gift or a pick up a copy for your Church nursery , perhaps a birthday gift. Such a positive story for your young child. When I read this book I though of having a small child in my lap. It is a great book and the perfect gift idea. This for sure a 5 star book. I recommend it. We need more books like this for our children. I received this book from the publisher for review. A favorable was not required and all views expressed are my own. M.Fields This book is really so simple and so sweet! Each two page spread shows a scene from Max's day where he gives thanks to God for everything he has. It's written in rhyme which I think is one of the best parts of the book. I will always cherish the years reading to my daughter when she was young. It's books like these that they will remember forever. Children will love it! Mcghee This series has endearing characters and lighthearted rhymes, as you'd expect. The illustrations remind me of the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie books. What I found most interesting was the science behind the books. Based on research about brain development and genetics, the books are meant to establish positive self-image thoughts from a very early age. It's frightening to think that the window for behavior closes at around age 6 or 7.....my son is 7 years old! When previewing this book, I noticed a stray apostrophe that didn't belong. Things like that usually get filtered out with future edits, so don't let it prevent you from enjoying the book. .I hope that parents will take their children's emotional well-being upon their own shoulders by reading positive books like the Inspirational Nursery Rhymes! Just imagine how that could benefit children, families, schools, and communities. I previewed this book for my blog post; opinions shared are mine. Savingsinseconds First sentence: I give thanks to God one hundred times a day; it makes me feel better in every single way. Premise/plot: This board book is one in the Inspirational Nursery Rhymes series. The book embraces the verse: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4). It is ALL about showing (and telling) young ones what giving praise, what giving thanks looks like. It does so mainly through rhyme. "I like when the days are sunny, but I always give thanks for the rain. Rain gives us water to drink, so we should never complain." My thoughts: I like the premise of this one. I think we all need reminders--no matter our age, no matter our stage in life--that we should give thanks to God always, always, always. I think gratitude and praise are things to teach little ones--primarily through example, in my opinion, and not necessarily through books. (That being said, it is much, much, easier to "demonstrate" gratitude by reading a book than it is to live out your doctrine day by day by day in front of your children.) I liked the illustrations especially. My favorites were Molly and Rosie and Papa. Part of me hesitates to say the text works well because of the rhyming. I think rhyme--or rather rhythm as the case may be--is one of the trickiest things to get right. It just is. If it doesn't sound right, it just sounds unnatural and forced. I've seen it done really well--like in the Rhyme Bible Storybook by L.J. Sattgast. The message of the book is good and strong. blbooks Jacqueline “Jackie” Courtney, was born and raised in San Jose, CA. and has spent most of her life as an elementary school teacher in the grades of kindergarten through 3rd grade.
