Me ---I was a kid, was in and out of Cuba during late 1950s, but what does a kid know? I knew that Miami seemed like a dump compared with Havana. The city was wild on every social level and the tourist loved it. An anything goes atmosphere, with: movie stars, gangsters, soldiers, police; the conflicting variations of passionate revolutionary fervor. All over the Island and in Florida, an adventurous kid gets the spirit of things, but --- the truth about everything going on --- Hey, nobody knew. It was a period of unbelievable intrigue, misinformation, and misunderstanding with multiple players, plots within plots. It was violent --- that’s civil war. Lies and to the Wall, is woven into the period, 1956 thru early 1960. Check out names, places, and events --- You will find most of it is spot on.
