NOTE: THIS IS THE BLACK & WHITE VERSION OF THE COLORED VERSION BY THE SAME NAME. THERE ARE NO COLORS IN THIS VERSION; ONLY SHADES OF GRAY. Every Christian knows we are supposed to emulate Jesus Christ. Jesus not only told us to follow Him but He even told us we could do His works (John 14:12)! The 1st-century disciples primarily learned to do this by physically walking around with Jesus and personally observing His actions day-by-day. The Man Jesus became not only their friend, Lord, and Savior but their very doctrine as well. Today, the primary way we must learn to do this is by reading, studying, and meditating on the four Gospels given to us by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We can get into our time machine, so to speak, and, just like the original disciples, "walk around with and personally observe the actions of Christ," with the help of the Holy Spirit. However, a hurdle to overcome is that these four Gospels, though telling essentially the same story of Jesus' earthly life, did so differently. Their descriptions of the same events differ slightly much like eyewitnesses today see a different facet of the same event. However, when all witnesses are heard, a fuller picture of what transpired and what was said is brought out. This is not apparent if the Gospels are just read individually on their own. Thus, this book! It arranges the four Gospels into a parallel harmony in chronological order. By placing the books in parallel it is easily observed what one writer includes and another doesn't. This harmony comes from Floyd Jones' book called, "An Analytical Red-Letter Harmony of the Four Gospels" that he arranged using the King James Version (KJV). This book also includes the rest of the New Testament (Acts-Revelation). The translation used is the World English Bible 2020 (WEB) version which is in public domain. Much reworking had to be done to Jones' KJV arrangement to make it work with the WEB version. By using this colorful New Testament on a daily basis, you will read through the four Gospels six times a year in chronological order, and the rest of the New Testament two times a year in canonical order. THERE ARE ONLY SHADES OF GRAY IN THIS B&W VERSION, SO: Formatting was added to the text of the translation to help clarify meaning, such as: - BOLD TEXT: A direct quote of the Old Testament complete with the reference to book, chapter, and verse - QUOTE MARKS on occasion: To show conversation - CAPITALIZED PRONOUNS: To show a reference to divinity (God the Father, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit) The goal of this book is to provide a way to walk with Jesus Christ and learn from Him daily. For if we believers walk like Christ, the kingdom of darkness will lose all its influence over us and others, and God will be glorified as captives of sin and sickness are set free in Jesus' Name and God's Kingdom is advanced!
