The Hero Levels Novella and Original Soundtrack is an epic journey through a mythical world, accompanied by cinematic audio textures and virtuosic viola, where each track brings to life a chapter of the hero’s quest. Featuring the author, Nick Revel, and his original musical scores, the album conjures vivid scenes of adventure, mystery, and triumph. Available with this written novella as a linked companion. The Hero from Amberglade, sets the stage for an epic fantasy tale. From quiet village life to the stirring call of destiny, this opening track captures the heart of a young hero shaped by loss, love, and fiery ambition. A bold beginning to a journey across realms unknown. The story, complete with full-page comic book-style panels, follows the release of Revel’s etude book, DragonScales: The Hero Levels, 25 Fantasy Etudes to Slay Evil, released via Amazon in July 2024. The innovative etude book, part of Revel’s video game-inspired DragonScales series, draws inspiration from role-playing games, leading players on a mystical journey filled with dragons and magical realms. The complete book includes 25 etudes accompanied by audio play-along recordings, challenging players with technical passages, extended techniques, theory workbooks, and improvisation as the hero character battles to slay evil. Since publishing all nine Hero Levels etude books and recording the complete set of Demo Play-Throughs, Revel has created The Hero Levels Original Soundtrack —an album that brings the story to life through music, even for those who don’t play an instrument. Each scene in the book corresponds with a track from the album, making it easy to follow along: just match the scene title with the track title to know what to listen to as you read.
