    Belatacept is used in the prevention of a patient's body rejecting a kidney after a transplant. Belatacept acts by stopping the immune system from attacking healthy tissues in the body. Human body may reject a transplant forcing the body tissue to react against the new coming organ, hence the use of Belatacept.

  • Belatacept Dosage

    Belatacept dosage may differ with age, body weight. The doctor may regulate your dosage for the desired effects. Initial adult dose

    • 10 milligrams per kilograms administered intravenously once on first day prior to implantation day of transplant and fifth day, and at the end of weeks 2, 4, 8, and 12.

    Maintenance dose

    • 5 milligrams per kilograms administered intravenously, at the end of week 16 and every 4 weeks plus 3 days thereafter.
