Hydrocortisone al (Ala-cort, Cetacort, Hydrocortone) is often prescribed to patients who have Addison's Disease, Adrenocortical Insufficiency, Asthma (Acute) and different types of skin conditions. Hydrocortisone al is used after previous medications have been resistant in skin conditions like dermatosis. Children over the age of one are prescribed hydrocortisone, to treat dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis or pruritus. Hydrocortisone al is a medication that helps produce a natural chemical in the body called cortisol which comes from the adrenal gland. There may be additional conditions that this medication is used to treat so if you have any questions regarding using Hydrocortisone ask your physician or pharmacist.

Hydrocortisone Al Dosage
Hydrocortisone al (Cortef, Locoid Lipocream) is prescribed in different forms such as topical ointment, solution, stick, rectal cream, topical spray, gel and various other forms, depending on the diagnosis your physician makes. Normal Adult Dosage: (lotion, gel, spray or cream)
- Apply to affected are 2 - 4x's/day to the affected area.
Normal Adult Dosage: (rectal suppository, foam 10% or solution)
- Use suppositories 25 mg/day inserted 2x's/day and used up to two weeks
Normal Adult Dosage:
- Topical solution used one time per day
