Loestrin (generic name: ethinyl estradiol, ferrous fumarate tabs and norethindrone) is a drug used as a contraceptive. It is a combination drug used in the prevention of pregnancy. Loestrin majorly works by preventing the release of ovaries. Through preventing ovulation, fertilization becomes jeopardized and almost impossible. Loestrin also alters the uterine lining. In doing so, it prevents a fertilized egg from finding attachment and thus flows out of the body.
