    Navane is the only thioxanthene that supports neurological functions. Navane has been evaluated and observed that it can manage any behavioral complications in patients with mental retardation. Potentially irreversible and involuntary symptoms can be depressed with the usage of Navane. Navane does not cause the most common side effects that other antipsychotics do, including changes in menstrual periods, breast swelling or discharge, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, appetite and weight changes.   • Navane Dosage

    The dosage of Navane depends on the persistence and severity of the patient's symptoms of schizophrenia. In the initial stages, small doses are used and gradually increased to an optimal level depending on a patient's response. Some patients are successfully maintaining a once-a-day Navane therapy. Additionally, for children (under 12 years), the use of Navane (thiothixene HCl) is not advisable since safe conditions for their usage has not been established.

    • Mild schizophrenia: 2 mg thrice daily should be followed. This may be increased to up to 15 mg per day
    • Severe conditions: a starting dose of 20 to 30 mg per day is allowed. This may increase to a level of 60 mg per day for a higher response
