    Phlemex is a combination drug. It contains two main ingredients which are responsible for its quick effect. The first ingredient is an expectorant called Guaifenesin. This is an ingredient whose main mechanism of action is through loosening chest and throat congestion. This makes coughing out through the mouth easier. The second ingredient is a cough suppressant which works through affecting brain signals which trigger cough reflex. The cough suppressant is called Dextromethorphan.;

    Phlemex treats various symptoms caused by common cold, allergies, and certain infections. The symptoms treated using Phlemex are as listed below. Your doctor may also use it in treating other symptoms only determined by him/her.

  • Phlemex Dosage

    Phlemex dosage is normally prescribed based on age and condition being treated. You should follow a prescription made for you by a medical professional without altering it. The following is the usual dosage for Phlemex. It should be used under normal conditions.
    Adults and Pediatrics 12 years and older

    • Oral capsule:; 2 capsules in every 4 hours without exceeding 12 capsules in a day
    • Oral liquid: 10-30ml in every 4 hours without exceeding six doses in 24 hours
    • Oral granule: 2 to 4 packets in every 4 hours without exceeding six doses in a day
    • Extended release oral tablet: 1or two tablets taken every 12 hours without exceeding 2 to 4 tablets in a day

    Pediatrics younger than 12 years

    • Oral granule: 6 to 12 years takes 1 to 2 packets in every 4 hours without exceeding six doses in a day
    • Oral liquid: 6 to 12 years takes 5 to 10ml in every 4 hours without exceeding 30 or 6ml in a day. 4 to 6 years takes 2.5ml to 5ml in every 4 hours without exceeding 15 to 30ml in a day
