    Prograf is used to lower the body's immune system so that it can easily accept a new organ during transplant surgery. By doing this, the immune system can accept the new organ as if it were already apart of the body and not an invader.

    Prograf is used to treat the following transplant surgeries: Kidney, heart, or liver.

  • Prograf Dosage

    Prograf dosage is completely dependent on the individual that takes it, as it can be used for a variety of conditions. Note that the amount of Prograf you take also depends on the age of the individual. In addition to that the amount of Prograf you take also depends on the strength of each pill/tablet and the amount of times you plan on taking the pill/tablet a day. Note that Prograf also depends on the type of condition you are treating.

    Note that Prograf should be administered no sooner than 6 hours after the liver or heart transplant surgery. For kidney, the dosage should be administered within 24 hours of the surgery.

    Prograf dosage to treat anemia from chronic kidney failure

    • (Kidney)For adults, the dosage is based on the patients body weight. Usually the daily dosage is .2mg per kg of the person's body weight.
    • (Liver)For adults, the dosage is based on the patients body weight. Usually the dosage is .10-.15mg per kg of the person's body weight.
    • (Heart)For adults, the dosage is based on the patients body weight. Usually the dosage is .075mg per kg of the person's body weight.
