    Prohance is used by medical professionals to help in the diagnosis of certain disorders of the head and the neck that affects certain patients, or the neck, brain and the spine. Prohance basically functions in combination with the MRA to allow the blood vessels, organs and other non-bony tissues to be seen more clearly on the MRA. Prohance may also be prescribed for other uses by a physician. Patients are advised that Prohance can cause life-threatening conditions in patients that have advanced kidney disease. Patients that have such conditions should therefore inform their physician before they begin using Prohance.

  • Prohance Dosage

    Prohance is used by medical professionals to help in the diagnosis of certain disorders of the head and the neck that affects certain patients, or the neck, brain and the spine.

    • The dosing for the MRI for the central nervous system for adults is a recommended dose of 0.1 mmol/kg.
    • Prohance should be administered as a rapid intravenous infusion in 10 ml/min-60 mL/min.
    • A supplementary dosage of 0.2 mmol/kg 0.4 ml/kg may be given up to 30 minutes after the first dosage but only in patients that have normal renal function. Patients should use Prohance regularly to get the best effect from it.
