Victoza treats type 2 diabetes by through several methods. First, it slows the food leaving your stomach, allowing the body to process it more easily. Second, it decreases the production of sugar in the liver, which can add to hyperglycemia. Thirdly, it increases the production of insulin in the pancreas when blood sugar levels are too high. It is not used for treating type 1 diabetes. Together, these three methods help to treat the symptoms of Type-2 Diabetes and regulate the levels of blood sugar in the body.

Victoza dosage will vary depending on the individual's health, age, weight, and medical history. This drug can be taken at any time of day, and should be injected subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
