The dosage depends on the particular individual that it is being administered to. The following dosage is average and could differ among individuals. Observe your doctor's orders strictly. Zanosar should be administered intravenously. The medication is not active orally. Your doctor will in most cases prescribe the relevant dose for you, based on your height and weight. Two distinct dosage schedules have been employed successfully with Zanosar. Daily Schedule:
- The recommended dose for daily intravenous administration is 500 mg/m2 of body surface area for five successive days every six weeks until optimum benefit or until treatment-limiting toxicity is observed. Dose escalation on this schedule is not recommended.
Per Week Schedule:
- The suggested preliminary amount for weekly intravenous administration is 1000 mg/m2 of body surface area at weekly intervals for the initial 2 weeks. It subsequent weeks the dose may be intensified in patients who have not realised a therapeutic reaction and who have not witnessed substantial toxicity with the earlier course treatment.
