In 2020, they raised prices two years in a row. By 2021, three-wick candles jumped from $9.95 to $10.25. Luckily, in 2022, prices dropped back to $9.95, and they stayed the same in 2023. Fingers crossed for 2024. Normally, a three-wick candle goes for $26.95. During other sales, prices can drop to anywhere from $11.95 to $15.50. During the last two Semi-Annual Sales, we found a few candles for $6.64, but those were holiday scents from the past. If you're into stocking up on candles for gifts, there's no better time to buy than Candle Day in early December.

Candle Day In-store and Online Sale

The sale is both in-store and online because not everyone wants to fight crowds in person. In 2023, Bath & Body Works Rewards members got early access on the first day, both online, starting at 6 a.m. ET, and in-store. Some stores opened at 5 a.m. local time. Then the sale opened to non-members for the next two days. However inventory goes fast on the first day, so joining the free loyalty program is a good idea. On Candle Day, there is a virtual line to stand in. When it's your turn, you'll be redirected to the shopping site. If you close your browser or your phone sleeps, you'll still keep your place in line if cookies are enabled. You can also enter your email to get a link to your place in line, accessible from any device. Just be on your toes you'll have 10 minutes to enter the site when it's your turn. If you miss it, you'll have to start over.

Normally, BBW has a bunch of different scents, but Candle Day has exclusive scents you won't find any other time of the year. These special options bring the total number of scents available on Candle Day to over 100.

Bath & Body Works hasn't announced the next Candle Day Sale date yet. But, based on nine years of tracking, experts think it'll be from Friday, Dec. 6 through Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, with the first day for Bath & Body Works Rewards members only. Candle Day has started on the first Friday of December since 2020. Experts have been keeping tabs on the sale since 2015 when it was a single-day event around the first Saturday.
